Jose Oscar Mur-Miranda

Engineering Consultant at Cooper Perkins and Visiting Fellow at Laspau

Jose Oscar Mur-Miranda earned his SB, MEng and PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he designed the first electrostatic vibration-to-electric energy harvester. He has also published several papers and served as an expert in energy harvesting and power transfer. As a faculty member at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico and Olin College, he was involved in the development of education experiments in engineering curricula. He co-created the International Development Innovator Network, an international consortium that addresses poverty by empowering local technology designers. Jose Oscar is currently an engineering consultant at Cooper Perkins and a visiting scholar of Laspau, affiliated with Harvard University, where he has the opportunity to serve as an education consultant for institutions around the world.
