Lucía Santa Cruz is the director of the Instituto
de Economía Política of the Universidad Adolfo
Ibáñez in Santiago, Chile, where she also
serves as a faculty member. Her academic interests focus
on modern history, and she contributes articles on political
and foreign affairs to El Mercurio.
Santa Cruz was an Eisenhower Fellow and a 2004 recipient
of the City of Santiago Women of the Year Medal. She is
a member of the Academia de Ciencias Sociales as well as
of several academic and cultural advisory counsels of several
institutions. She is also a board member of Nestle Chile,
S.A. and Compañía de Seguros La Chilena Consolidada.
Santa Cruz has a master’s of philosophy degree from
Oxford University and a bachelors of arts degree from the
University of London.
