LASPAU's draws upon more than 40 years of valuable partnerships and experience with educational institutions in Latin America, the Caribbean, the United States, and Canada in order to assist universities and other organizations with a wide range of development efforts.
Strategic Planning LASPAU works with senior leadership teams to assist them in determining both short- and long-term strategies for expanding institutional capacities. LASPAU couples its understanding of effective higher education models with each institution's existing strengths to develop dynamic and practical plans for expanding types of programs and numbers of participants. Roots in the Harvard community and relationships with institutions and individuals throughout the hemisphere enable LASPAU to identify experts to participate in dialogs on specific issues and seek appropriate solutions.
Program Design LASPAU has designed and implemented successful educational programs in a wide variety of areas, including science and technology, the environment, faculty development, agriculture, economics, and business. This practical knowledge of what has been done, where it has been done, and which approach works best is invaluable in designing new programs. As funding becomes more limited, LASPAU is a creative and resourceful partner in developing programs that meet the challenges of the next century. Program design often includes needs assessment, market surveys, goal establishment, detailed implementation plans, and fundraising strategies.
Partners in Building Networks LASPAU's active relationships with over 2,000 universities and other institutions across the Americas enable it to be a valuable partner in helping institutions build stronger networks. Very often such work involves defining clear programmatic objectives, selecting relevant institutions, and arranging the best ways to coordinate agreements, plans, and specific programs. LASPAU designs and facilitates benchmarking visits for university leaders, providing a unique window into institutional competitiveness and opening new doors for collaborative endeavors.
Higher Education Reform In collaboration with the Harvard Graduate School of Education, LASPAU assists Latin American and Caribbean governments in national efforts to reform higher education by providing expertise in the areas of accreditation, financing, and institutional development.
Science and Technology LASPAU works with regional science and technology organizations and corporations to design and administer programs that provide advanced degree and nondegree training for professionals in these areas.
Education for Growing Economies Markets cannot develop without trained management and skilled labor to sustain them. LASPAU designs targeted training programs and new financing models to assist corporations, institutions, and government agencies in their development efforts.
